The Juliano Dance Initiative INC.
Our Mission
- To help facilitate and afford young aspiring dancers the opportunity to study, perform and connect creatively with educators artists and audiences. Building relationships that instill confidence, competence and commitment to refining their craft, as well as, opening doors that might otherwise be closed, through merit scholarships.
- To serve, expand and enrich the community with outreach programs, festivals, concerts and school demonstrations that bring awareness to the importance of Arts Education.
- To Promote artistic advancement by providing scholarships to high risk youth, fostering a love of the performing arts, who otherwise might not be able to afford lessons or the opportunities that come with it.
- To fund Partnerships, collaborations and special events with Charitable organizations as good will ambassadors, as well as fund costumes, commission choreography, master classes, or cover travel expenses associated with performances or educational purposes.
Our Reason
Each year millions of children desire to take dance lessons, but can’t due to the financial restraints of their families, and our economy. Art programs are being cut from many schools. Most of the financial support goes to sports programs, about 57%, with only about 3% going toward the arts. Of that 3%, most of it is for older children, not the younger children who need it most. The ones who are most at risk and come from under served communities. Without access to Arts Education, be it the performing arts, or visual arts, children are left with no outlet for creative expression, physical exercise or emotional release. Children who have access to arts education, such as dance, on average do much better in school, display better social skills, show more self esteem and are more likely to get into colleges and universities. It is for this reason the Juliano Dance Initiative INC was formed.
Raising awareness of our cause and our work is crucial if we are going to make any kind of long term impact. So, we are reaching out to our Neighbors and Community to help us make Dance and the Arts available to all who seek it, regardless of financial, or social status. Dance at any age has the power to inspire, transform and promote wellness physically and mentally, while encouraging individuality, self expression and artistic growth, be it spectator or participant.
Please consider being a sponsor and making a donation, it would bring us one step closer to our goal, ensuring that all children have the chance to experience dance and the performing arts, making them less likely to fall through the cracks and get into trouble.
Additionally, a portion of the donations will go to help fight cancer through partnerships, collaborations, and special events as Good Will Ambassadors. Cancer has touched not only our lives, but the lives of several of the young dancers we teach. At a time when most children are running, playing and dancing, these children had to spend much of their time in and out of the hospital, getting treatments that made them sick. Your donation could help fund the research, that will eventually find the cure.
